All Glories to Divine Mother!
I offer my obeisance to Divine Mother my Kali who chooses Her Name 19 to be KakaraVarnaSarvangi. Kakara means “Ka”, Varna means letter and Sarvangi means all Her limbs. So KakaraVarnaSarvangi means the One who is all the limbs of the letter “Ka”. “Ka” means cause, in this case it refers to the primal cause of anything and everything. What is ‘the cause’ of everything that we see with our eyes around? Or shall we say ‘Who’ is ‘the cause’ of everything? From where has the colossal diversity sprung forth? Is it just due to the Darwinian evolutionary theory, a view of course of the rational mind no more no less? ‘Who’ is weaving the fascinating tapestry on earth and even beyond in the beautiful stars and galaxies? The answer can be both simple and complicated, depending on how one takes it.
So, “Ka” means the cause. “Ka” also means the state of ultimate non-duality. When there was nothing of all that we think we know, there was just ‘Shoonya’. A state where Purusha and Prakriti were One. A state where only Supreme Consciousness prevailed as the union of Shiva and Shakti. And that state existed for eons and eons beyond comprehension. Then the Advaita Brahman wished to manifest. This desire of the Divine was ‘the primal cause’ that Shiva and Shakti manifested as two, the first and foremost duality. They saw the nothingness around and Shiva’s creativity Shakti desired to create. This desire of Divine Mother was another cause that She created the five elements, Panchmahabhuta, space, air, fire, water and earth. She is both ‘the cause’ as well as ‘the creator’ of the three worlds, the sun, the moon, the stars, the planets, the galaxies and all the jeewas, meaning diverse life forms. And then She created human being. Her creation manifested in the form of varied dualities like day and night, joy and misery, agony and ecstasy, life and death, bondage and freedom. Divine Mother Kali is the central cause of everything.
She is ‘the cause’ of all Jnana, all wisdom. She alone is ‘the cause’ of all desires that keep brimming in creatures. This means She only is ‘the cause’ that pops the desire for liberation in beings. The ultimate liberation from all shackles of life and death to merge in the Supreme Consciousness and dissolve in Advaita. Mother Kali is the cause of all creation, sustenance and dissolution. Everything has emerged from Her womb and when She so wishes She takes back everything inside to the original state of non-duality where She is one with Shiva.
Salutations to the One who prefers to be KakaraVarnaSarvangi!
