NAVRATRI: 9 Nights of Transformation

Navratri- 9 Nights of Transformation

Wish to take a break and deep breathe amidst the daily hustle-bustle? Well, Navratri is the best time for you when you don’t actually need to go out anywhere to feel relaxed yet it offers you an opportunity to reflect calmly on you and your life.

Navratri, literal meaning 9 nights, is majorly observed twice every year when the season is about to change. The first one is Chaitra Navratri observed around March-April, when spring is about to end and summer is looking to mark its entry. The other Navratri known as Shardiya Navratri is observed somewhere around September-October which kind of announces the arrival of winter shortly. Every year on these 2 occasions Navratri is celebrated with great fervor by scores of Hindus throughout India and beyond. But the real essence of Navratri goes way further than merely being considered as a festival.

India has always been a land where people have trusted their very own energy system more than anything else. This is because in this culture since ages unknown people have known the immense potency of one’s own energy and how it can be harnessed to achieve anything that a human can ever think of. Navratri is the perfect time where one can align one’s energy with those of the higher order or let us say cosmic energy and become perfectly attuned and prepared for taking better charge of what comes ahead. Navratri is like kind of the best time to debug and format your system and update the software to suit better functioning of your self.

On both instances when Navratri is observed the season is about to change. At such a time the immune system is weak and more susceptible to sickness and infections. Modern science has now proven this which was otherwise known to this culture since long. This is because in this culture observation of one’s own self has always played an important role in running the life process. This is the reason behind observing fast during Navratri. The idea was to take a break and keep it light so that the system is better prepared for the next season.

Fasting does not imply not eating here. It means to give your system a chance to flush out the toxins by ingesting food items which require less energy to break down. It is servicing of your digestive system just like you get your car serviced.

Navratri fasting not only detoxifies your body but also helps towards taking care of your immunity. Additionally since the system is not taking complex food items like grains the body is less lethargic and more active. This helps enhancing the senses as they are sharper and give you a chance to have a relook at yourself. It is the apt time to reflect, turn inward and see what is it that you need to fix inside to better take care of the situations you are into.

It is your life energy that runs you. Navratri give you a chance to take care of it, align it to suit you the best. Go recharge, rediscover, reform and reinvent yourself this Navratri.
