All Glories to Divine Mother!

Kama means desire. Kamada means the One who is the giver of desire. Mother Divine is the One who fulfills all wishes of Her devotees. Every life is bound strongly with desires of various kinds. Desire derives its strong grip on human life as it is the first tendency of the mind. It is often also referred to as the mother of all tendencies. These desires are wishes which everyone has to lead a comfortable life. The very basic desires are needs that have to be met in order to live in the first place. These are the needs of food, shelter and clothing. The first two even animals strive for. However, desires in animals are mot as complicated as they are for humans. Animals are well off if they have a belly full and are protected. The desire for more and more is reflected in human lives. Divine Mother is the ultimate giver. Humans derive pleasure and delight when desires get fulfilled. And Kamada is the One who can grant all desires, be it material or spiritual.

Om Swami, the Realized Master, has classified desires as physical, emotional, intellectual and transcendental for the sake of better understanding. Physical desires are related to well being of the body and senses, emotional desires spin around the need to be loved, intellectual desires are a little evolved and selfless while transcendental desire is the desire of self realization. A devotee who surrenders truly at the feet of Divine Mother knows by Her grace that She alone can bestow whatever it is that one is seeking. Kamada is ever loving. She wields the power to turn a pauper into an emperor. The Mother knows what is good for Her kids. The ignorant mind however, keeps on dwelling on myriad desires. The one who offers all desires at Her feet with a true heart is the one who can know freedom. She bestows all desires and also opens the gates of self realization.
