KurukullaVirodhini

All Glories to Divine Mother!

The name KurukullaVirodhini literally means the One who defies the forces of duality. Everything that can be perceived through the five senses exists in duality. This duality is all pervasive and appears as two sides of the same coin. As long as humans are subject to three dimensions and bound by five senses there is no run off from duality. There is day and night, summer and winter, love and hate, good and bad, high and low, right and wrong, joy and gloom, light and dark, strong and weak, peace and war and so on. Duality begets discrimination. If you look at it, duality seems to have a pretty obvious bearing on the lives of human beings. Hence, it is readily accepted.

Forces of duality also have a connection, deep or not one is free to think, with conditioning of the mind. As soon as a child gains some understanding of the world, he is introduced to dualities of all kind. What is right and what is wrong, what conduct is good and bad, what is rewarding and what is shameful, a child’s mind is ingrained with all kinds of duality. The child out of his innocence does not know why it is so because to the why no one possibly has an answer. So the mind keeps on getting implanted by duality and its subsequent conditioning one lifetime after another and it becomes the very fabric of human being.

Divine Mother in Her manifestation of KurukullaVirodhini challenges duality of any kind. She is over and above that and is not subject to any kind of dichotomy. She is Advait, where no duality exists. She is Brahma, the universal consciousness. She is non discriminating. When She cuts through the forces of dualities She bestows jnana, true knowledge, on Her devotees and shows that all duality is but a mere illusion. She severes all conditioning and reveals that actions springing forth from duality are nothing but false impressions. With the Grace of KurukullaVirodhini, a jnani sees this truth and strives to attain union with Her, the Brahma, the Supreme Consciousness or Supreme Soul.

As a blessing KurukullaVirodhini divulges that as long as there is conditioning stemming from duality there can be no freedom. Duality sabotages innocence and conditioning veils the true self. By the blessings of KurukullaVirodhini one can rise above duality and see things without the colored lenses of the mind and perception of the five senses. This enhanced perception which sees duality as illusory comes only with the benediction of Maa KurukullaVirodhini.

Salutations to the One who prefers to be KurukullaVirodhini!
